Amazon’s Early Reviewer Program

Given that Amazon has seen the struggles that new sellers are going through, they decide to create something that they have called the “Amazon Early Reviewer Program”.
Amazon's Early Review Program

There are very few things that are as important for you as an Amazon seller as getting good reviews from your buyers. The problem is that it can take a while before you start seeing any sales for your products, and it can be even harder to start seeing positive reviews if you are new to the platform.

Amazon’s Early Reviewer Program is meant to provide a more reliable way for sellers to get those initial reviews and Amazon does this by encouraging people who have already bought your products to review them.

This program does not guarantee positive reviews

One thing that you need to keep in mind is that this program is not going to guarantee that you get positive reviews from your past buyers. In fact, it’s not uncommon for people who are unhappy with the product they received to simply skip reviewing and move on to a better seller.

The point is that you could get a negative review from a past customer if you make use of the early reviewer program, but if you are confident that your product is good, you should not have to worry about a low rating and a bad review.

Incentive-based reviews are no longer allowed

There was a time when sellers could give buyers incentives by giving them free products or social discounts in exchange for a review. This is considered to be a review that is not 100% honest because it is encouraged by giving the buyer rewards. This means that the best way for you to get those first reviews is to make use of the early review program.

How are the reviewers chosen?

One of the ways in which the reviewers are chosen is by looking into every person that has purchased your products. Amazon does make sure that none of the candidates have any kind of history of abusing the review system with dishonest and intentionally harmful reviews.

Why is it important for you to have reviews on your product page?

One of the first things that anyone will do when they find a product they are interested in buying is to look at the reviews from past customers. This means that a product with no reviews at all is likely to be as bad for conversions as a bunch of negative reviews.

Once you are able to get at least 5 reviews for a product, you are going to be able to attract more buyers who are considering purchasing your product Not only that, but having a few reviews creates a snowball effect of more people feeling encouraged to share their opinion on a product.

Final thoughts

One of the first things that people will consider when they are starting out with Amazon is that it seems to be very hard to achieve any results. This is the reason why enrolling in this Amazon program is going to be so important and useful. Enrollment to the program costs $60, but the benefits of having 5 reviews are extremely relevant to any new seller looking to grow on Amazon.
